  Biographical Information: Yo-Yo Ma was born on October 7, 1955, in Paris, France. His parents were Chinese musicians, and the family moved to the United States when he was seven ( Whiting J 2008 ). Ma showed prodigious talent early on, performing with major orchestras by the age of five. He went on to study at the Juilliard School and Harvard University. His diverse musical interests led him to collaborate with artists from various genres and cultures, making him one of the most versatile and celebrated cellists in the world ( Whiting J 2008 ).
